The feeling of disgust is always subjective. It depends on where you were raised. It's as if we were indoctrinated from a young age about what is repulsive and what is not — Andreas Ahrens. Director of the Disgusting Food Museum (Sweden)

My second fully illustrated book

Have you ever wondered what some of the world's most disgusting sounding dishes are? Just wait until you hear what's on the dinner table around the world with Disgustingly Delicious.

The book begins with a map where you can place each dish on its country. It also introduces a character named Ana, who will be your guide throughout various locations across the globe.

Written by Soledad Romero Mariño and edited by Mosquito Books. The book is originally written in Spanish and it has been translated into Catalan and English.

Below you can see an example of the process I follow when creating each page, in this case Kiviak dish. First I search for reference images and videos to understand each dish. I wanted to have references from the country’s people, textiles, buildings, landscapes, traditions, etc.

Pencil sketch approved by the editorial.

Final look of the colored spread

All project was done digitally using a Cintiq Pro. I created all the sketches in Photoshop and designed the page layout and type inDesign. Once editors approved it I applied color using a restricted color palette decided in the beginning. This allows me to maintain the same energy all along the book.

Hope you like it :) You can buy the book here in Spanish, here in Catalan and here in English.
